To celebrate Kings Day we’ve gone back to the 1930s and rustled up an ‘Orange Blossom No 1’ from the original Waldorf-Astoria bar book.
It’s a really simple drink to make involving just three ingredients: gin, sweet vermouth and freshly squeezed orange juice.
Take a large glass with ice cubes and add 25ml of each, then stir. Then strain the mix into a chilled cocktail glass and ‘voila’ your drink is ready to enjoy.
Tips: use a gin with citrus botanicals; squeeze your own orange juice; try swapping out the gin and using jenever for a truly Dutch celebration! Proost!
