Did you know today is World Cocktail Day?! On 13 May 1806, editor Harry Croswell of the New York newspaper ‘The Balance and Columbian Repository’ defined a cocktail as "a stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters". There are many others theories of where, when and why the word ‘cocktail’ was coined, but we’ll take any excuse for a glass or two of liquid deliciousness today. Cheers to that!
